Summary:
As a Parts Representative, you will be responsible for assisting customers with their parts needs and managing the parts inventory. Your role is crucial in ensuring that customers receive the correct parts promptly, contributing to the efficient operation and maintenance of construction, consumer and agricultural equipment. You will also oversee inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels and ensure the availability of necessary parts.
Education and/or Experience Desired:
  • Experience in an Agricultural or Construction type setting is strongly preferred
  • 1-3 years' experience in a customer service-related position
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement: Greet customers promptly both in-person and over the phone, using their names where appropriate. Provide exceptional service by addressing their needs efficiently and thanking them for their business.

  • Needs Assessment: Ask insightful questions to accurately assess customers' parts requirements. Utilize all available resources to identify the best solutions and provide expert recommendations.

  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong business relationships with customers, positioning yourself as a knowledgeable resource for their part-related questions.

  • Marketing Communication: Effectively communicate and promote the company's marketing programs and value propositions to customers.

  • Support for Technicians: Assist technicians and service personnel by promptly retrieving and delivering parts, understanding the critical role shop orders play in the profitability of the Parts department.

  • Inventory Management: Retrieve parts from inventory, manage transfers from other stores, and place orders as necessary. Ensure timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments.

  • Transaction Processing: Generate invoices, process payments accurately, and manage financial transactions with attention to detail.

  • Order Fulfillment: Organize and process parts orders upon arrival, matching them with corresponding orders and ensuring accurate inventory placement.

  • Customer Notification: Contact customers to inform them when their orders are ready for pickup.

  • Merchandising: Maintain visually appealing displays by facing, stocking, and dusting merchandise daily. Design and create seasonal merchandising displays to drive sales.

  • After-Hours Responsibility: Share responsibility for after-hours calls with other parts department staff on a rotational basis to ensure continuous customer support. Employees will be required to carry the phone for the nights and weekends and will be paid $75.00 for their efforts on a weekly basis. This will occur April - November. The employee will receive an additional $75.00 if they need to go to the store and paid per occurrence. In addition, there will be mileage reimbursement.

  • Lead Referral: Identify and refer potential sales opportunities to appropriate company staff.

  • Work Area Maintenance: Ensure a clean, organized, and safe parts area, always adhering to safety guidelines.

  • Inventory Accuracy: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and participate in the annual physical inventory process as needed.

  • Professional Development: Stay informed about equipment and market trends by engaging in training sessions, reading product bulletins, and utilizing other educational resources.

Physical Requirements:
This role requires frequent use of hands and fingers to handle tools, controls, and objects while sitting. Work Environment:
You'll work in a service setting that involves handling diesel engines, enduring loud noises, and adapting to frequent temperature changes.
