Marketing Director - Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF)

SCCF is seeking a dynamic and experienced on-site Marketing Director to take the organization's brand and marketing strategy to the next level. Realizing the power of SCCF's brand as a trusted leader in conservation and science-based solutions to protect Southwest Florida's coastal ecosystems, this role will elevate public awareness, engagement, and support. The Marketing Director will help maintain SCCF's long-standing leadership role in the Sanibel-Captiva community, strengthening partnerships with other nonprofits and our business community, while expanding our regional impact to other parts of Southwest Florida. 

Responsibilities:

  • Establish a marketing strategy that will diversify funding support for SCCF, including growing corporate partnerships
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing team while fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, accountability, and collaboration
  • Implement social media strategy, establishing targeted goals to increase followers and engagement
  • Oversee social media strategy and digital marketing initiatives, establishing measurable goals for audience growth, engagement, and conversion
  • Develop and manage website strategy, email marketing campaigns, search engine optimization (SEO), answer engine optimization (AEO) and digital advertising efforts
  • Develop and execute an effective marketing plan for SCCF's signature fundraising events and immersive educational programs
  • Partner closely with the Development team to support fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship efforts, membership growth, and event revenue goals
  • Expand and enhance community outreach and partnerships
  • Increase brand awareness and manage new merchandise campaigns
  • Enhance SCCF's portfolio of marketing collateral
  • Optimize branding, including logo use, digital resources, and brand attributes
  • Cultivate relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets to increase SCCF visibility and thought leadership
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report marketing performance, campaign effectiveness, and return on investment to senior leadership
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, agencies, photographers, videographers, designers, and consultants
  • Develop and manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring effective use of resources and measurable outcomes
  • Work closely with SCCF Communications Director, Development Director and other department leaders to ensure cohesive organizational messaging, strategic alignment and goals

Requirements:

  • 4-8 years marketing experience, with a bachelor's degree in marketing or PR preferred
  • Portfolio of success on multi-platform campaigns, including digital media and video productions
  • Proven excellence in effective social media strategies, based on analytics and ROI
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to empower others, while encouraging creativity and innovation
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing strategic marketing plans that drive measurable organizational growth
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, digital marketing platforms, analytics tools, content management systems, Microsoft Office applications, and marketing technology solutions
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating success of marketing plans
  • Experience with data management and targeted marketing initiatives
  • Capable of collaborating with several teams at once, and experience in managing multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Experience directing creative development, graphic design, video production, website initiatives, and digital content creation. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
  • Ideal candidate will be skilled at Photoshop, video editing, user interface/experience, and graphic design
  • Experience working within nonprofit organizations, environmental organizations, educational institutions, or mission-driven organizations preferred

Special Requirements:

  • Occasional weekends and evening hours during event season
