Job Title: Senior HR Business Partner Director
Location: Houston, TX 77074 (100% on-site)
Term: Approximately 16–18 months (temporary, not contract)

Job Summary
This role serves as a strategic HR & Talent Business Partner, providing a full range of HR services to senior leaders with a focus on talent, organizational effectiveness, and business partnership. The individual will act as a trusted advisor and collaborator to executive and operational leadership, supporting areas such as change management, culture, performance, and work environment. The incumbent partners closely with business leaders and HR colleagues in employee relations, compensation, and performance management, and typically reports to the AVP, Human Resources.
 
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field (required)
Master’s degree preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
Certified HR professional (e.g., PHR, SPHR, or equivalent) preferred
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
10+ years of HR business or client management experience, including:
Strategic talent planning
Employee engagement and retention
Client relations and business partnership
Leadership development, culture transformation, and/or change management
5+ years of people management experience (direct leadership of HR or people teams)
Excellent leadership, influence, and negotiation skills
Ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
Strong diagnostic skills and conceptual thinking
Demonstrated ability to implement and execute HR strategies and initiatives
Experience building and strengthening team effectiveness

Principal Accountabilities
Lead and manage direct‑report HR staff, including hiring, coaching, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions.
Serve as the primary HR leader for at least two community hospitals, a large academic medical campus, or a System Services organization.
Contribute to the development of HR strategy and lead the implementation of departmental and facility‑level HR initiatives.
Provide fiscal accountability for HR budgets and resources at the facility/entity level.
Develop and drive HR ideas and programs that support the execution of HR strategies at the facility and/or organizational level.
Design, develop, implement, and deliver training programs and interventions focused on:
Strategic talent planning
Engagement and retention
Client relations and business partnerships
Total rewards
Leadership development
Culture transformation and change management
Consult on change strategies that align with a high‑performance culture and act as the driving force behind key change initiatives.
Use strong diagnostic capabilities to improve performance, business outcomes, and employee engagement, and actively participate in key operational reviews (e.g., Monthly Operational Review) to ensure alignment and execution of action plans.
Proactively identify strategic gaps or opportunities and develop consulting plans to address root causes.
Diagnose and analyze complex work environment issues, and design collaborative interventions and solutions with key stakeholders.
Leverage business acumen to assess business initiatives and processes, identifying opportunities to optimize human capital and performance.
Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors and adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards, including budgetary and productivity targets.
Support professional growth and development by meeting education and competency requirements, serving as a preceptor or mentor, and contributing to departmental and organizational goals.
Demonstrate commitment to caring and service excellence by creating compassionate, personalized experiences for patients and colleagues in alignment with Memorial Hermann’s values and service standards.
