Job description

Serve as a point of contact across assigned tutoring services functional areas, providing subject matter expertise and guidance. Support day-to-day operations by helping ensure alignment with established policies, procedures, and best practices.

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience. 

Learning Center Supervision: Opening and closing the center as scheduled; instruct/tutor students; organize and lead study groups/tables; maintain learning environment suitable for all learners; participate in ongoing training and preparing tutors to assist learners in the attainment of their academic goals; generate contacts with populations of students to increase student academic success of those utilizing learning center; maintain knowledge about learning differences among college students; recognize and apply appropriate learning strategies for individual needs and for improvements in course-specific requirements.

Outreach: Plan and schedule informational class visits, deliver classroom presentations on learning strategies for class content, campus presentations for new student orientation and other relevant events, cultivate connections with staff and faculty, meet/work with departments/faculty to improve student academic success, retention, and graduation. Demonstrate initiatives to increase the number of students studying in learning centers.

Support the virtual learning center by maintaining records of student interactions and coordinating appropriate support services based on identified student needs.

Develop and conduct academic workshops/seminars (on-ground and online) incorporating adult development theories, learning theories, and college-level academic success strategies. Utilize tools for learning in the classroom and skill enhancement for independent studying for all student classifications and characteristics.

Communicate key information and reports during staff meetings; prepare and share written reports and data; collaborate with units within the Division of Student Academic Success; and participate in university committees.

Perform other duties as assigned.
