Reports to: Special Services Manager
Schedule: 10-month position | 7:50am-3:50pm
Position Summary
The Learning Specialist provides specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, and English learners. This role involves developing individualized learning plans, monitoring student progress, and collaborating with teachers, families, and support staff to ensure student success.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver specialized instruction and targeted interventions based on student needs
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, 504 plans, and individualized learning plans
  • Serve as case manager, ensuring compliance and coordination of student services
  • Analyze student data to guide instruction and track progress
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications
  • Facilitate IEP meetings and communicate regularly with families
  • Support a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development
  • Maintain accurate student records and complete required documentation

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Elementary Education, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • Elementary teaching or special education experience preferred
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and data-driven instruction skills
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered learning
  • Bilingual (English/French or English/Spanish) preferred
