POSITION SUMMARY:

The Exercise Center Attendant supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This part-time position supports the Wellness team with welcoming and engaging facility users.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Greet and engage facility users. Maintain high visibility in the Wellness Center area; conduct periodic walk-throughs.

· Must be willing to earn and maintain American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification (Certification will be provided by the YMCA upon hire)

· Enforce Wellness Center policies.

· Provide equipment orientation and timely follow-up.

· Ensure cleanliness and safety of environment.

· Adhere to emergency procedures and safety precautions. Follow procedures for reporting all accidents, incidents and hazards.

· Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations. Obtain and maintain required training(s).

· Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be 18 years of age

CPR and First Aid certified – (Will be provided by the YMCA upon hire)

Experience in the health and fitness field preferred

Use of a variety of fitness equipment

SALARY:

Starting rate of $12 an hour

SCHEDULE:

Part-time all year around (29 hrs per week)

Monday and Tuesday 3 PM - 7 PM

Subbing is required as needed.
