Responsibilities

Identifies, coordinates and assigns all available staffing resources for clinical units across the system. The Coordinator continuously monitors staff resources using input from computerized scheduling software, requests from individual nursing units and feedback from unit administrative resources to assign staff according to patient census and acuity. The Coordinator will consider the skill level and training when assigning staff. Unit managers, shift supervisors, and/or charge nurses will be responsible to consider the skills and training of staff to determine an appropriate patient assignment.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

 

  • High school graduate or equivalent education
  • Secretarial experience or any equivalent combination of training, education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
  • Must be able to competently demonstrate word processing keyboard skills ad ability to work on spreadsheets to formulate unit schedule, among duties.
  • Must have computer skills, proficient with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

 

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

 

  • Previous staffing and scheduling experience.
  • Hospital or medical related experience is preferred.
