Harborview Medical Center's International Medicine Clinic has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time Registered Nurse.
WORK SCHEDULE
  • 0% FTE, per-diem
  • Day Shift

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The unique International Medicine Clinic at Harborview offers high-quality primary and mental healthcare services to adult refugees and immigrants ages 16 and older. The full services of UW Medicine are available for other specialty care needs or hospitalization.
We also offer a Community House Calls program to visit patients at home and make follow-up visits. We have an in-office pharmacy to provide full-service pharmacy services to international clinic patients. Services include prescription fulfillment and pickup, travel medicine consulting, and immunization.
We know getting the right care can be confusing, so our patient care coordinators help patients with a variety of issues related to care such as health insurance, making appointments and contacting other agencies.
Our staff speaks a number of additional languages, including Amharic, Cantonese, Chao Jo, Mandarin, Hmong, Khmer, Laotian, Mien, Oromo, Somali, Tigrinya and Vietnamese. Interpreter services are available.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create a culture of professional excellence and an environment that values clinic staff and the population they serve
  • Management of patient care, providing medical advice in both urgent and routine situations, and serving as a source of backup expertise for all the members of the clinic staff
  • Assist the provider in performance of procedures, and as an independent provider of certain RN procedures
  • Provide direct care and assist in delivering preventive client-focused health services for women, including assessment, education, intervention and counseling related to health maintenance and other assigned duties
  • Coordinate care for a group of patients, ensuring continuity of their care received by the clinic

REQUIREMENTS
  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington
  • Previous outpatient or ER nursing experience
  • Must be available at least 4 shifts per month
