Job description

Beloit Health System is looking to add a Radiology Service Representativeto our Team!
  • Shift: 1st
  • Schedule: 7:30 am -5:30 pm
  • Hours per week: 24 or 32
  • Benefits Status: Eligible
  • Department: Imaging Administration

The Radiology Service Representative performs various clerical functions to support patient care in all modalities of the Imaging Department
  • Accurately records pertinent information when scheduling appointments and taking messages.
  • Handles and screens phone calls, receives faxes and facilitates communication with staff and Radiologists.
  • Directs patients to the correct waiting area.
  • Completes all patient forms thoroughly and accurately. Obtains all necessary signatures on forms.
  • Refers patient questions regarding insurance, billing, patient accounts, payments, and record transfer to the proper department.
  • Verifies prior authorization before scheduling any advanced medical imaging exams.
  • Demonstrates the ability to navigate and perform functions accurately and efficiently with the computer software applicable to the Medical Imaging Department and its modalities.
  • Help family members with any questions regarding family member having a procedure Direct them to different areas Of the hospital.
  • Schedule's appointments according to the Medical Imaging Department's guidelines and uses all options in an accommodating manner.
  • Participates in opening and closing responsibilities and works Saturdays as needed on a rotational basis.
  • Interacts in a positive, responsible, and cooperative manner with patients, families, physicians, coworkers, managers, and director.
  • Receives messages through via various media and handles appropriately
  • Completes and helps with record transfer requests accurately and/or coordinates record transfer personnel with patients as necessary.
  • Ensures security of PHI. Maintains confidentiality of all patient and employee information and records, Beloit Health System financial information and business practices Handles problems independently and with sound judgement.
  • Troubleshoots and/or problem-solves issues.
  • Importing CD's and modifying demographic information to match RIS
  • Scan documents into PACS
  • Activate orders for outpatient services in the Medical Imaging area

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Basic computer skills including keyboarding
  • Excellent organizational, verbal communication, and interpersonal relation skills to be utilized with coworkers, patients, and the public Ability to prioritize and multitask work
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while keeping information private and confidential
  • Ability to learn various prep information and exam compatibility.
  • Reporting Relationship: Medical Imaging PACS Analyst, Medical Imaging Clinical Manager and Department Director
