POSITION: Ultrasound Technologist
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Part-Time .8 FTE (64 hours per pay period)

JOB SUMMARY:The Ultrasound Tech works under the supervision of the Imaging Department Director. Performs ultrasound procedures and all related duties. Participates in establishing ultrasound protocols. Assists with scheduling ultrasound appointments. Maintain patient records and RIS/PACS competency. Provides specific guidance and instruction to staff and/or students in ultrasound procedures.
JOB DUTIES:
Performs ultrasound procedures on patients of all ages; pediatrics, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Instructs and prepares patients for ultrasound procedures. Operates equipment accurately and efficiently. Optimizes equipment gain and display. Selects transducer appropriate for procedure. Performs 2-D/M-mode/Doppler exams. Obtains and prepares images for reading. Performs any quality assurance and preventive safety testing required on ultrasound equipment. Works closely with the radiologist in developing ultrasound protocols. Assists with scheduling ultrasound appointments. Maintains patient records; RIS/PACS competency. Provides instruction and guidance to staff and/or students in ultrasound procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. ARDMS registered or obtained post completion of competencies within 1 year.
  2. Basic Life Support certified or obtain within 4 months.
  3. Good computer skills.
  4. Good interpersonal communication skills.
  5. Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values.
  6. Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.
