Job description

As an Engineer I on the Subscriptions Domain team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality product features that are reliable, well-tested, and bug-free. You will contribute independently to the development and enhancement of core subscription capabilities, ensuring a seamless experience for both customers and internal operations teams. In this role, you will work within the Subscription Experience Domain, focusing on extending and improving existing user-facing and operational workflows. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams-including product, design, and engineering-to build scalable solutions that enhance the subscription lifecycle and overall customer experience.
This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days on site at a Best Buy location and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What you'll do
  • Design and develop application features from concept to deployment, incorporating feedback from internal and external partners
  • Create and enhance internal libraries and tools to improve development efficiency and scalability
  • Mentor peers and share best practices to foster team growth and technical excellence
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and design business-driven features while mitigating technical risks
  • Lead and participate in production support, triage, and incident resolution across environments
  • Stay current with industry trends and apply innovative solutions to engineering challenges
Basic qualifications
  • 1+ year of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, Associate's degree or Coding Bootcamp/Code School OR equivalent relevant professional experience
  • 1+ year of relevant Enterprise Software Engineering experience at scale
  • 1+ year of development experience with React, Next.js, Typescript, JavaScript and similar technologies 
  • Experience using Cloud technologies with AWS preferred or GCP
  • Experience integrating with Back End Web services, Figma and implementing design
Preferred qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience
  • 2+ years of development experience with React, Next.js, Typescript, JavaScript and similar technologies
  • 1+ years of native mobile app development (React-Native, iOS, or Android)
  • Ability to build and optimize web applications and platforms in a cloud environment with a solid understanding of front-end design
  • Ability to collaborate with product managers
  • Ability to triage and manage complex, production issues
  • Experience building highly scalable and performing applications
