Position Summary
The Equity Alliance Fund is seeking a ground game organizer to work in Davidson County.
The organizer will develop relationships and deep understanding of community dynamics in targeted black neighborhoods. The organizer will also coordinate organizing and canvassing efforts targeted to expand civicengagement and increase voter registration on an on-going basis in these communities. The ideal candidate willhave a proven ability to foster coordination and cooperation among diverse groups and will be committed togetting results in a fast-paced environment.


Essential Functions
The following are indicative of the essential functions required to perform this job successfully. Organize and lead canvassing efforts to identify and engage voters, distribute campaign materials, and collect data.

Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers to assist with voter outreach, phone banking, canvassing, and event organizing.
Collect, record and help analyze data related to the community engagement work

Lead community outreach, organizing, digital advertising, and canvassing efforts, including hosting DVC/VR events

Manage paid canvassers


Contract Length:

  • This is a part time position;Expected to work30hours/week.


Compensation

  • Employee will be paid $3,000 each month, paid weekly.
  • Salary is not negotiable.


Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent


Skills and background:

Office 365 and Google Drive mastery
Knowledge of office management systems and procedures

Excellent communication skills


Experience:
Experience working effectively and collaboratively with diverse populations


Competencies:
Interpersonal & Communication Skills- must demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills that
result in effective information exchange with clients and direct reports
Attention to Detail- must demonstrate the ability to recognize the component parts of a procedure and
verify its correctness and/or error
Time Management- accurately evaluate and prioritize decisions and actions to be completed effectively
and timely


Environmental Conditions and Physical Demands:
Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of
objects and materials

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
The employee is required to stand, walk, climb, kneel, stoop and balance
The employee may occasionally have to work outside or walk through neighborhoods for canvassing events


Logistics

  • Ability to drive. Must have reliable transportation, a cell phone, and a valid driver's license.
  • Local travel required.
  • Work on evenings and weekends is required.
