Job description

Childcare Center Closer - Part Time

Do you enjoy supporting both team members and families while helping a childcare program run smoothly? Weโ€™re looking for a dependable and confident Childcare Center Closer to join our team!

This role is Mondayโ€“Friday, 2:00 p.m. โ€“ 6:00 p.m., with primary responsibility for guiding the center through a smooth, organized close each day.

What youโ€™ll bring:

  • Strong communication skills and a calm, professional presence
  • Experience supporting staff scheduling and daily operations
  • Solid understanding of Washington State ratio requirements
  • Confidence in directing staff and ensuring safe, efficient transitions as children depart
  • Comfort working independently, while also collaborating under the guidance of a part-time Director

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age

Prior experience in a licensed childcare setting (leadership or teaching experience preferred)

Demonstrated knowledge of Washington State licensing standards, including staff/child ratio requirements

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to confidently direct staff and manage end-of-day operations

Comfortable working independently and making sound decisions in the absence of a full-time Director

Ability to collaborate effectively under the guidance of a part-time Director

Commitment to maintaining compliance, professionalism, and a positive team culture

Must meet all DCYF pre-service requirements (background check, TB test, and required trainings)
