Medical Assistant Instructor

Huntsville, AL - Huntsville, AL 358062509

Huntsville โ€“ Campus based position

We are seeking experienced Medical Assistants to become fully trained instructors for year round morning and evening classes, PRN.

Morning classes run M-F 8:30-1 - usually instructors teach M/W/F or T/Th classes

Evening classes run M-TH 5:30-10

Medical Assistant Instructor Duties Include:

  • Teach in the Medical Assisting classroom with a maximum of 24 students, covering clinical and administrative skills.
  • Class sessions are 4.5 hours in either day or evening sessions.
  • Learning the material and delivering lectures and demonstrations, working from the Ross lesson plans and curriculum.
  • This is a part-time, as needed position, typically 0-9 hours per week, more if you can teach morning and evening classes.

Medical Assistant Instructor Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience in the medical assisting field and formal training from an accredited institution. Must be able to obtain a national certification as medical assistant. Individuals without a formal education, must have with a minimum of 5+ years' experience working in the medical field and a national certification. Additional requirements or exceptions may be applicable based on the state, program, and accreditation requirements.
  • Interest in teaching or prior experience
  • Must be flexible and have a passion to learn and grow

  • Sufficient ability to stand for extended periods of time, move around the building and classroom to satisfy student needs and/or facilitate student participation.   • Demonstrates professionalism in manner, dress and conduct as a representative of Ross and a student mentor
  • Ability to remain objective and treat all students equally
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Adhere to Ross Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics
  • Clinical Coordinators need to have ability to travel to visit clinical sites or other meetings
  • Prior teaching or formal tutoring experience using a developed curriculum, preferred
