Your Mission
We are looking for a Part-time Family Practice Physician Assistant for our Coalition Health Center in Fairbanks, AK. Beacon offers flexible schedules (4 x 10s or 3 x 12s) which promote work/life balance.

How You'll Contribute
As a Family Practice Physician Assistant, you'll provide exceptional care and empower patients to take charge of their health:
  • Deliver Comprehensive Care: Provide primary medical services for assigned patients, including preventive exams, evaluation and treatment of injuries and illnesses, and referrals to specialists or facilities.
  • Leverage Diagnostic Expertise: Order, perform, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests to guide accurate treatment plans.
  • Prescribe with Confidence: Recommend medications, therapies, and specialized care as appropriate.
  • Perform Procedures: Carry out medical procedures within your scope of practice.
  • Tailor Treatment Plans: Consider a full range of preventive and treatment options to create age-appropriate, culturally sensitive, and achievable care plans.
  • Manage Ongoing Care: Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and ensure continuity of care.
  • Communicate Clearly: Explain diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up needs so patients and families feel informed and supported.
  • Empower Patients: Educate and encourage patients to actively participate in their health, providing helpful resources and materials.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Document care in the electronic medical record system (Athena) promptly and according to guidelines.
  • Lead and Delegate: Assign direct and indirect patient care activities to appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with Physicians: Work closely with physician team members and NP colleagues to deliver coordinated care.
  • Stay Certified: All providers are expected to obtain DOT certification within 3 months of hire.

The Talent We're Looking For
  • Active Alaska License for PA
  • Active BLS, ACLS and DEA
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant family practice and urgent care experience
