Overview

The Event Supervisor will supervise the Event Staff for all sports & entertainment events held in the Ryan Center, Boss Ice Arena & Meade Stadium. This role plays an essential part of the guest experience and helps build memories for the staff and those in attendance. The position is in close communication with the event managers and may at times need to make educated decisions on how to deliver positive customer service on their own within the policies and procedures established. The Event Supervisor will be expected to work all Ryan Center events as needed, with event schedules provided well in advance.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $18.00 - $21.00

Responsibilities
  • Assist in day-of supervision of the day-of events team members, including placement of ushers throughout the building.
  • Work closely with the Event Managers to ensure that all event-related information is properly relayed to part-time staff.
  • Welcome guests with a great smile and helpful attitude when our venues open for our events.
  • Supervise and oversee the scanning of event tickets.
  • Assist fans in locating their seats.
  • Being alert and proactive to potential hazards and reporting incidents when they occur.
  • Supervising staff in your assigned area for issues and opportunities to make lasting memories for our guests.
  • Respond to all guest concerns/complaints promptly and in a professional manner. Report any issues to the Event Managers.
  • Enforce all building policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all guests.
  • Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients.
  • Support the foot traffic flow of large crowds and monitor and maintain doorways, entrances, exits, or other areas as assigned.
  • Report, respond to, and record all incidents that occur during an event. These could include medical or safety incidents.
  • Be knowledgeable about the arena emergency evacuation plan in order to safely assist guests during the unlikely event of an emergency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of previous experience in a customer service-related position. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is required.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of crowd management, safety procedures, and event operations.
  • CPR / First Aid or other safety certifications are a plus.
  • Flexible schedule: Availability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Capable of standing for long periods of time, often in loud or busy environments.
  • Employees may be positioned outside for applicable events.
  • Demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and provide creative on-the-spot solutions to challenges.
  • Must enjoy working with and helping people.
