What It's Like to Be a Maintenance Technician at Oakbrook

As a part-time Maintenance Technician, you'll support the day-to-day operations of the community by completing routine maintenance and responding to service requests. You can expect to split your time between preventative maintenance, unit turnovers, and addressing resident maintenance needs, all while working collaboratively with the property team.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, boilers, chillers, and pool control systems
  • Complete work orders efficiently and assist with apartment turnovers and vacant unit readiness
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for estimates and approved repair work
  • Conduct regular inspections, including safety checks, preventative maintenance, and monthly/quarterly inspections
  • Assist with grounds maintenance, common areas, trash and recycling
  • Support adherence to operating budgets related to repairs, maintenance, and capital projects
  • Report accidents, emergencies, or safety concerns to your supervisor immediately
  • Provide support at additional nearby properties as needed
  • Participate in the on-call rotation as scheduled
  • Demonstrate and uphold Oakbrook's core values
  • Perform other duties as assigned
