Do you love connecting kids with stories, creativity, and the joy of learning? The Allen County Public Library is looking for a Part-Time (28 hours per week) Children's Librarian to join our team at the Main Library downtown. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference for children and families in the heart of our community.

Pay: $20.51–$24.00 per hour to start - based on experience

About the Role

As a Children's Librarian, you'll help bring the library to life for our youngest patrons. You'll plan and lead engaging programs and storytimes, assist children and caregivers with library materials and services, and support outreach efforts and tours. You'll also help patrons navigate technology, online resources, and library tools-all while creating a welcoming, inclusive space where curiosity is encouraged.

You'll work alongside a collaborative, people-first team that values literacy, learning, and community connection.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree - required

  • At least two (2) years of library operations experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience)

  • Ability to obtain Indiana Public Librarian Certification LC5 within three (3) years of hire

  • Valid driver's license (for outreach activities)

  • Strong communication skills and a genuine enjoyment of working with children and families

  • Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new tools
