Job description

The Library & Classroom Paraprofessional supports the educational program by managing daily library operations, providing elementary library instruction, assisting teachers and students in classrooms, and supervising students during assigned duties. This position includes teaching a daily library class, maintaining library materials and resources, supporting classroom instruction and student needs, and assisting with recess and other supervisory responsibilities as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach and supervise a daily elementary library class.
  • Maintain and organize library materials, books, and resources.
  • Assist students with book selection, checkout, and library procedures.
  • Support classroom teachers by working with individual students, small groups, and classroom activities.
  • Assist with behavior management, academic support, and instructional tasks.
  • Supervise students during recess and other assigned duties.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively with elementary-aged students.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and maintain confidentiality.
