Job description

The Lansdowne YMCA, in partnering with Delaware County Community College, is excited to announce the opening of a new, state-of-the-art Early Learning Center.

We are seeking a a full-time or part-time Kindergarten Teacher to plan and lead high-quality classroom experiences aligned with PA Early Learning Standards and YMCA core values. Ideal candidates are passionate about creating nurturing, engaging environments that support growth and development of young children while building strong partnerships with families and the community.


Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum based on child assessments
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and well-supervised classroom environment
  • Use positive guidance strategies aligned with YMCA core values
  • Build strong relationships with families and communicate childrenโ€™s progress
  • Maintain required documentation (attendance, assessments, incident reports, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Assistant Teachers and attend required meetings and trainings
  • Follow all supervision, safety, and mandated reporter policies

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 18
  • Associateโ€™s Degree with 30 credits in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • 3 years (3,750 hours) documented experience working with children
  • CPR/AED and Pediatric First Aid (or ability to obtain within 15 days)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Commitment to professional growth and working with diverse populations

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 15โ€“50 pounds
  • Ability to actively supervise children and respond to safety needs
