Job Summary:
The Department of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part time TH Staff Assistant II, Nursing Staffing. The successful candidate will:
  • Assist with nurse scheduling to recruit overtime and agency staffing to supplement the needs of all the units.
  • Complete the staffing grid on a daily basis to reflect that staffing needs were met or not met.
  • Update Kronos for daily and weekend staffing needs on a daily basis to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Update sick call logs and notify appropriate units.
  • Input Float CNAs monthly schedule in Kronos.
  • Schedule and coordinate Agency Orientation (RN/LPN/TECHS/CNA).
  • Maintain units monthly schedule (when submitted) and staff units accordingly.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient computer knowledge.
  • Strong verbal, written and organizational communication skills.
  • Or, a satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training to the above.
