We are looking for a motivated part-time Junior Accountant to join our accounting department.

As a part-time Junior Accountant, you will support our core financial recordkeeping and day-to-day accounting functions under the supervision of senior accounting and finance leadership. This entry-level role is ideal for an analytical professional seeking hands-on experience in ledger maintenance, month-end closing procedures, and public company financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Post invoices and payments and reconcile variances.
  • Payroll Processing: Prepare payroll direct deposits and associated tax payments and file related payroll tax returns.
  • Journal Entries: Prepare and post monthly accounting entries accurately to general ledger and resolve transaction variances.
  • Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, payroll related worksheets, and sub-ledger worksheets.
  • Month-End Support: Assist senior staff with meeting reporting deadlines.
  • Data Verification: Investigate and resolve financial inconsistencies.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with management team and our Board of Directors.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Accounting or Finance degree (or currently pursuing), or commensurate experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software like QuickBooks.
  • Standards: Basic understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and how it applies to financial reporting.
