Job description

SUMMARY

Provides and coordinates services tailored for global and internationalstudent groups that require personalservices. Ensures programs are compliant with Collegeand governmental agencies.  TheCoordinator of Global and International StudentProgram performs a broad range of duties to increase the global and internationalstudent population and provides a comprehensive system of service delivery thatis responsive to global and international students and the needs of the Collegecommunity.  
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • *Develops, coordinates, implements and evaluates processes and services
  • *Reviews student applications and credentials and processes acceptance for global and international student  populations
  • *Establishes and maintains all appropriate files
  • * Develops and coordinates international student recruitment and outreach strategies, including communication with prospective, current and former students, College employees, agents, and U.S. and non-U.S. higher education institutions and high schools, and other organizations likely to be viable sources of global and international students
  • *Attends and actively participates in global and international student recruitment events; composes and gives presentations locally to individuals or large groups regarding programs and services at College. Attends and facilitates information events for populations interested in College programs.
  • *Maintains internal and external information and reporting systems to support and facilitate the operations of this specialized student groups which may include SEVIS and Ohio Department of Education and Workforce
  • *Anticipates and meets all students and stakeholder needs accurately, professionally, and with a commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) approved by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to issue immigration documents and grant immigration benefits to students in F-1 visa status
  • Advises and assists global and international students regarding all admissions requirements and non-immigrant compliance issues, such as visa adjustments, employment, travel, and re-entry into the country
  • Participates in the New Student Orientations and other activities related to global and international students; works collaboratively to plan programs that enhance international education at College
  • May audit global and international students quarterly as required by federal regulations
  • May issue I-20 forms consistent with College policies and procedures and U.S. government regulations
  • May serve as an intermediary in establishing open accounts for students on an F-1 visa
  • May provide functional supervision to part-time staff and/or students workers
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
