CAN Community Health is now hiring a Part-Time Pharmacy Technician
Schedule: Part-Time Day Shift Monday-Thursday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Friday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Salary: $19-$22 per hour based on experience

What You'll Do
Technician works directly with the pharmacists to fulfill prescription medication orders and maintain inventory control.
  • Answer phone & assist customers
  • Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist:
  • Assist patients as required
  • Enter prescription information into the pharmacy computer system
  • Enter patient information into the pharmacy computer system
  • Contact all new patients for demographic and insurance info
  • Upon receiving new antibiotic scripts, contact patient immediately to inform them & process
  • Maintain updated patient profiles including allergies
  • Initiate communication with prescribers for clarification of missing prescription information as directed by the pharmacist and allowed under state and local law
  • Intake and typing of new and refill prescriptions
  • Accept refill requests, proactively contact patients to see if they are ready for refill

Pharmacist may delegate these tasks to technician:
  • Data entry
  • Labeling of preparations and prescriptions
  • Retrieval of prescription files, patient files and profiles
  • Counting, weighing, measuring, and pouring of prescription or stock legend drugs and controlled substances, including the filling of automated medication system
  • The acceptance of an authorization to dispense medications pursuant to a prescribing practitioner's authorization to fill an existing prescription that has no refills remaining
  • Organizing of or participating in continuous quality improvement related events, meetings, or presentations

Requirements
Education/Professional:
  1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  2. Minimum of 1 year experience
  3. Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
  4. Registration with the Pharmacy Technician Florida State Board of Pharmacy
  5. Experience in pharmacy practice or health care setting helpful
  6. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have valid insurance and driver's license.
