Description:

Are you looking to leave work and think, " That was FUN? Then look no further and come join our team at Florida OMFS. We are looking for like-minded people to join our group practice whose vision is to create beautiful smiles while creating lasting impressions and touching patients' hearts. This is a great way to supplement a 4-day-a-week position at a general dentist's office or to try out working for a specialty office. The focus of this role is to provide back-up support to our office on our busiest patient days, primarily through fielding phone calls.


We are looking for GREAT PERSONALITIES, TEAM PLAYER MENTALITY, and someone with FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE. If you think you have what it takes, let me tell you what we offer:

  • This is a part-time position. The hours are Fridays, 7:45-3:00 pm. We would consider an additional day on Mondays, 7:45 am-4:30 pm, if desired.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet patients when they arrive at the practice
  • Schedule appointments for patients and referrals
  • Maintain patient records
  • Submit patient claims to insurance companies
  • Completes insurance verifications.
  • Verify, update, and enter patient information and patient insurance into the data system.
  • Assist patients in filling out required intake and medical forms
  • Confirm appointments with patients and ensure cancellations are filled
  • Manage and organize referrals
  • Inform patients of payment options if applicable
  • Perform basic accounting tasks such as taking patient payments
  • Update patient insurance information
  • Ensure all dental office equipment is functioning properly
  • Sort and organize incoming and outgoing mail
  • Ensure the reception area is maintained and professional in appearance.
  • Patient hand-off to the Dental Assistant.
  • Monitors patientsโ€™ waiting times; takes appropriate action to resolve patient flow issues, acknowledges wait times with patients, and offers solutions to accommodate patientsโ€™ needs.
  • Partners with the Office team to ensure patientsโ€™ visits exceed expectations.
  • Update the treatment plan information in the company system at the direction of the treating Doctor; collect and post patient payments.
  • Educates patients on insurance benefits.
  • Other duties as directed by the supervisor
Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude in the face of challenging situations
  • High school or equivalent (Required).
  • 1-year Dental experience required.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel
  • Background check required.
  • Possess a basic understanding of Dental Insurance, a plus
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and diagnosis is a plus.
  • Knowledge of OMS Vision is a plus
  • Bilingual is a plus but not required.
