Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Any Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in the discipline; OR, Any Associate degree and six years of experience in the discipline; OR, the equivalent All Candidates Must Demonstrate: Evidence of a sensitivity, understanding, and ability to manage the classroom environment AND effectively provide instruction to community college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds. Desired Qualifications Ability to teach beginner, intermediate and advanced courses in architecture, urban planning, interior design, industrial design, and design-related fields Ability to oversee and guide student projects to meet student learning outcomes Ability to provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines of record Recent university, community college or lower division teaching experience 2-5 years of experience in field of course(s) to be taught Proficiency in Online Instruction with use of Canvas for LMS and content delivery Preferred industry-aligned software latest version such as Rhino, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, Solidworks and/or REVIT.

An ideal candidate will have recent experience working with racially minoritized students in the classroom, and a willingness to use culturally responsive instructional practices Experience teaching studio, lecture, and seminar courses at undergraduate and/or graduate levels Ability to mentor students in design projects, portfolio development, and career planning Familiarity with modern fabrication methods and digital prototyping is preferred Additional Information REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS A Long Beach Community College District application.
