Position Description

We are a team of builders, strategists, and creatives who hold ourselves to an exceptionally high standard because our clients depend on us to get it right. We are seeking a highly organized, creative, and proactive intern to join the 52Launch Design team on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging problem solving skills to bring unique product ideas to life. This individual will play a key role in the initial stages of design and development across a wide range of categories of projects.


Responsibilities

  • Concept Development: design research, ideation sketching, and finished renderings based on the project brief to support the Design
  • Team Presentation Coordination: compile sketches, media, and other resources into ready-to-go client facing presentations
  • Prototyping: utilize prototyping skills to build proof of concepts, works-like, or looks-like models
  • Material Acquisitions: brainstorm and acquire proper materials necessary for project and product development
  • 3D CAD: assist in building 3D CAD models (SolidWorks or Rhino) for visual evaluation and 3D printing
  • Additional responsibilities:
    • Collaboration with cross-functional teams (sales, creative, and product)

Qualifications & Experience (required)

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Design. Note: You must be eligible to work 40 hours a week for the duration of the internship.
  • Online or PDF portfolio
  • Proficiency in 2D design tools: Sketchbook Pro, Vizcom, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering software (SolidWorks/Rhino and KeyShot).
  • Strong understanding of the Design Process
  • Strong sketching and visual communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and take constructive critique


Qualifications & Experience (preferred)

  • Familiarity with designing within manufacturing constraints
  • Experience prototyping and using hand or power tools
  • Presentation skills
