Job description

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for professionals experienced in electronics manufacturing, semiconductor workflows, PCB design, hardware validation, yield analysis, reliability testing, and structured hardware engineering documentation.

This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on structured electronics manufacturing review, hardware engineering workflow analysis, technical documentation, validation reporting, manufacturing systems review, and high-quality project execution. Selected professionals will apply their electronics or hardware expertise to review realistic engineering scenarios, evaluate technical requirements, prepare structured written outputs, and support accurate, evidence-based electronics workflow tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Professionals in this role may contribute to:

Electronics Manufacturing & Hardware Workflow Review

  • Review electronics manufacturing scenarios involving semiconductor design, PCB workflows, electronic assembly, SMT manufacturing, NPI, sustaining engineering, and production documentation
  • Evaluate hardware engineering materials against source documentation, technical requirements, manufacturing constraints, and expected workflow outcomes
  • Support structured review of design review decks, schematic or layout materials, BOMs, ECOs, validation reports, and manufacturing documentation
  • Identify missing information, process gaps, technical inconsistencies, and expected electronics review outcomes

Test, Validation & Reliability Documentation

  • Review hardware test scenarios involving test reports, reliability studies, HALT/HASS materials, yield analyses, validation records, and failure investigation documentation
  • Evaluate test and validation outputs against documented criteria, expected results, engineering requirements, and source materials
  • Support structured review of quality, reliability, yield, and validation workflows across electronics or semiconductor environments
  • Prepare clear written explanations for hardware engineering decisions based on source materials and verifiable criteria

Manufacturing Systems & Technical Task Design

  • Review structured workflows involving MES systems, simulation tools, version-controlled engineering files, production records, and cross-functional technical documentation
  • Support structured task documentation based on realistic electronics workflows involving multiple tools, files, and review steps
  • Work with materials related to platforms such as ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, GitHub, GitLab, or similar systems
  • Maintain accuracy, consistency, and professional judgment across submitted work

Ideal Profile

Strong candidates may have:

  • 3+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, hardware engineering, semiconductor design, semiconductor fabrication, process integration, yield engineering, PCB design, hardware test, validation, reliability, electronics supply chain, NPI, or sustaining engineering
  • Experience in semiconductor, consumer electronics, networking hardware, contract manufacturing, or related electronics-heavy environments
  • Background in one or more areas such as digital, analog, or mixed-signal design; IC or SoC workflows; PCB layout; SMT manufacturing; hardware validation; reliability testing; or electronics sourcing
  • Familiarity with tools such as ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, GitHub, GitLab, CAD/EDA tools, MES platforms, or similar engineering systems
  • Comfort reading and preparing engineering artifacts such as design review decks, schematic files, layout files, test reports, yield analyses, BOMs, ECOs, reliability reports, validation reports, and technical workspaces
  • Strong analytical thinking and written communication skills
  • Ability to translate electronics manufacturing and hardware workflows into clear, structured task documentation

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, electronics engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, materials science, or a related technical field is helpful
  • Equivalent practical experience in electronics manufacturing, hardware engineering, semiconductor workflows, PCB production, validation, or reliability work is also highly relevant

Nice to Have

  • Experience at a large semiconductor, consumer electronics, networking hardware, or contract manufacturing organization
  • Familiarity with semiconductor fabrication, process integration, IC/SoC development, PCB assembly, SMT processes, electronic test, reliability engineering, or manufacturing transfer
  • Experience preparing or reviewing schematic/layout files, BOMs, ECOs, yield reports, validation plans, test reports, reliability documents, or manufacturing records
  • Familiarity with simulation tools, MES systems, version control, manufacturing execution workflows, or technical documentation systems
  • Strong attention to detail in hardware-heavy, documentation-heavy, and cross-functional engineering environments

Why This Opportunity

  • Apply electronics manufacturing and hardware engineering expertise to structured remote project work
  • Contribute to high-quality hardware workflow review, validation documentation, manufacturing analysis, and technical scenario development
  • Work on flexible, project-based assignments aligned with your electronics background
  • Use your engineering judgment in a focused, detail-oriented technical environment
  • Remote structure with competitive hourly compensation
