Job description

Part-Time Health Promotion Coordinator

The Health Promotion Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating community health promotion initiatives that improve the health and well-being of South Windsor residents. This position develops educational programs, coordinates community outreach activities, fosters partnerships with local organizations, and supports public health initiatives that address community health priorities. The Coordinator works under the supervision of the Director of Health.

This position is performed in both office and community settings. Evening and occasional weekend hours may be required to support community events, educational programs, and public health initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement community health education and wellness programs.
  • Expand community outreach and engagement efforts.
  • Organize health fairs, educational workshops, and community outreach events.
  • Develop culturally appropriate health education materials, presentations, and social media content.
  • Assist with identifying community health needs through surveys, data collection, and community engagement.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with healthcare providers, schools, nonprofit organizations, local businesses, faith-based organizations, and municipal departments.
  • Promote evidence-based programs addressing chronic disease prevention, nutrition, physical activity, mental health, tobacco prevention, substance misuse, injury prevention, and other public health priorities.
  • Coordinate marketing and promotion of Health Department programs using print and digital communication platforms.
  • Maintain records of outreach activities, program participation, and evaluation metrics.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Hourly Rate

$25/hr.
