Kortendick Ace Hardware is locally owned and operated since 1951! We are proud to be recognized year after year as Racine's Best Hardware Store! Our focus is to be the leading hardware store in our market.
Garden Center General Summary
Our garden center is open from late spring to early summer. If you enjoy caring for plants, giving gardening advice, find yourself looking at your neighbor's gardens and others you drive by, then perhaps you should consider a seasonal job in our garden center! We are looking for sales associates to help care for our plants and sales support for customers in the garden center.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Demonstrate excellent customer service
• Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with other associates
• Interest for gardening
• Maintain the health of plants by watering, rotating, deadheading, fertilizing, etc.
• Support the maintenance of a clean and clutter-free garden center
• Available with a flexible schedule depending on the weather, approximately end of April through early July
• Able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs
• Able to work in a variety of temperatures and weather and stand on your feet 6-9 hours
• May include cashiering duties
• Ensure all garden center pages and phone calls are answered promptly and courteously
• Attend a pre-season meeting, date TBD
• Provide a positive representation of Kortendick Hardware, Inc.
• Be professional in appearance and actions
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Schedule:
• Part-time
• 4-8 hour shifts
• The garden center is open 7 days a week
• Day shifts, night shifts, weekends
• Holidays
Additional Info:
If there are any May or June schedule conflicts then they must be discussed in advance prior to any job offer
Cashier training will get scheduled in April for garden center associates who will be trained on the register.
