Job description

PART TIME/WEEKENDS -- Join a thriving Garden Center dedicated to providing customers with a welcoming and beautifully maintained environment. As a Maintenance Associate, you will be an essential part of the team, ensuring the Garden Center remains clean, organized, and inviting. This role offers the opportunity to work outdoors, contribute to the upkeep of a wide variety of plants and garden products, and help create a positive shopping experience for every visitor. If you enjoy hands-on work, being part of a supportive team, and making a visible impact, this is the place for you.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Garden Center, including walkways, parking lot, and container courtyard
  • Ensure accurate pricing and labeling of fountains, statues, and other products
  • Assist with unloading and loading delivery trucks, and move products to designated areas
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as removing weeds, broken branches, and dead plants
  • Keep equipment and carts in good working condition
  • Build and maintain attractive product displays
  • Assist customers with loading purchases into their vehicles
  • Support all Garden Center departments with daily tasks and projects as needed
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to complete on-the-job training successfully
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate equipment such as golf carts, loaders, and forklifts
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Knowledge of company products, services, and customer-related policies
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays
  • Capable of standing, walking, stretching, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling, and pulling for extended periods
  • Comfortable with repetitive movements over long periods
  • Team player with a reliable attendance record
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
