Part-Time  Food Service Worker needed to support Catering and Special Events 

Pay: $16.50 to $18.00 depending on experience

Jamestown Community College is seeking a motivated Part-Time Food Service Worker to support Catering and Special Events. This role is a great opportunity to contribute to memorable campus events and elevate the dining experience for students, staff, and visitors.


Key responsibilities

Set up, serve, and break down catering setups for campus events and functions

Assist with food preparation, portioning, and presentation under the direction of catering staff

Deliver friendly, professional service to students, faculty, staff, and guests

Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary work areas in compliance with food safety standards

Transport food, equipment, and supplies to event locations across campus as needed

Collaborate with the dining team to ensure events run smoothly and on schedule


What we're looking for

Positive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for hospitality

Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends for special events

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.

Prior food service, catering, or hospitality experience preferred but not required

ServSafe certification a plus; training may be provided

Requirements

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Prior food service or school cafeteria experience is a plus.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a positive attitude.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy school cafeteria environment.

Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.

Must pass all background checks and comply with school and company health and safety requirements.
