Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The PT Assistant II, Language Lab performs standard lab duties while assisting multiple students and at times two computer labs. Activities are routine as well as repetitive. Reports to Division Operations Manager and a Department Chair.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Monitors and assists students with the lab requirement of their class
  • Responsible for monitoring and signing-off on students' lab time
  • Assists with monitoring and tracking lab supplies (workbooks, printer toner, and paper supply)
  • Uphold students' reasonable understanding of proper lab conduct
  • Operates a variety of office equipment, including but not limited to computer(s), printer, copier, and laminator
  • Responsible for other related duties as assigned

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
    • Has a general knowledge of Internet Explorer, and search engines
    • Proficient use of Microsoft Office
    • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, organizational, and strong customer service skills
    • Ability to work independently and work cooperatively as a member of a team
    • Must be detail oriented and precise
    • Must be able to follow the lab rules and guidelines
    • Must be punctual
    PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
    The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
    WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
    • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
    • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
    • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office and/or laboratory
    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High School diploma or GED
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Have taken and passed college level Freshman English courses or higher

    Hourly Pay Rate is $15.60
