Job description

Palmetto Moon is a rapidly growing specialty apparel, accessories, home and gifts retailer celebrating the Southern lifestyle. The Distribution Center (DC) Floor Associate will perform a variety of routine receiving, transferring, shipping, production and housekeeping tasks requiring a strong attention to detail. These tasks include loading and unloading truck shipments, handling product, machine operation, and tagging merchandise. Candidate will be responsible for following warehouse and company policies and procedures regarding safety. This position reports directly to Distribution Center Floor Lead.

Responsibilities:

  • Sort, count and ticket merchandise
  • Verify product matches the receiving document and tickets
  • Tag merchandise accurately as per guidelines
  • Follow any special instructions for labeling product
  • Inspect shipment for damages, loss, or defects and notify supervisor of findings
  • Adhere to the compliance of all legal and safety procedures
  • Operate dolly and cart to move product and boxes
  • Load and unload pallets of boxes with or without equipment
  • Must be at least 16 years old to apply
  • Effective communication/comprehension skills verbal and written
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
  • Basic computer skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations
  • Work in a team environment
  • Self-motivated
  • Physical Requirements--ability to bend, twist, stoop, reach, climb ladders, & lift materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Retail warehousing/distribution center experience a plus
