Life doesn't always follow a fixed schedule. That's why we created the Security Officer - Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader.

As a Security Officer Screening Driver Enhanced Part Time in Dover, DE, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.67 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat03:00 AM - 09:00 AM

How This Role Works:

  • Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
  • Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service by following site-specific screening procedures, access protocols, and Allied Universal standards at a busy logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen employees, visitors, packages, and/or vehicles entering or leaving the location, documenting security-related concerns and reporting unusual activity to site leadership.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues through proper communication channels when appropriate.
  • Monitor entry points and screening areas to help support authorized access, maintain orderly movement, and address questions from drivers, staff, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, observing for operational irregularities, hazards, and/or security-related issues in varying working conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
