Job description

Location: OR-Eugene
Job Title: Master Control Switcher (Part-Time) - KLSR TV
Position Overview
The KLSR/KEVU Master Control Operator position includes monitoring and delivering on-air broadcast signals, recording programs from satellite and fiber feeds for later use, setting up automated playlists for programming and commercials, and monitoring transmitter and other signal distribution for compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain quality and accuracy of the KLSR & KEVU air signals between programs & commercials.
  • Operate automation system, video servers, satellite receivers, file-based content delivery systems and related computer systems.
  • Acquire and prepare content for broadcast.
  • Run live sporting and other live events.
  • Log all discrepancies, maintain transmitter log and monitor multiple signals simultaneously.
  • Work closely with Programming, Traffic, Engineering, and Production departments.
  • Maintain communication with key staff members throughout shift and assist all departments or individuals to promote quality broadcasting.
  • Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure stations are operated on-time and efficiently.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Good understanding of broadcast signal standards
  • Must work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Thorough understanding of computer operations, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Requires a cool head under pressure and a strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous on-air television switching experience preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
