The Climate, Energy, and Risk Analytics Lab at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Part Time Research Scientist to work with Prof. Yuki Miura.

Our cutting-edge research focuses on identifying, quantifying, and mitigating various climate risks including floods, heatwaves, and transition risks to build resilient communities, protect assets, and support institutions. The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering's research is breaking new ground in robotics and automation, additive manufacturing, nanotechnology and materials engineering, computational engineering, biomechanics, and healthcare applications.

Expectations
Candidates will be responsible for conducting research on identifying and measuring climate risks coupling with machine learning techniques and physics models. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated background in computer science, statistics, and engineering as exemplified by a strong publication record.
Salary range
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the salary for this position is $30/hour depending on the candidate's experience and qualification.
Expected start date and period of employment
Expected start date is July 1. This position is expected to be for 2 months. Part time appointments would require a work schedule of approximately 27 hours per week.
