The Development Department at Hope Gospel Mission is seeking a detail-orientated professional to join their team! This position is focused on leading data entry and other administrative tasks to support the Development Department. If you are interested, let us know by submitting an application!


Job Title: Development Data Entry Specialist

Supervisor: Development Manager

Classification: Part-time, non-exempt

Schedule: 20 weekly working hours within the flexible range of M-F 8:30am - 4:30pm

Position Objective: Representing Hope Gospel Mission with a faith-focused, professional demeanor in all interactions, both verbal and written. Providing accurate, detail-oriented data entry support within the Development Department, maintaining donor and fundraising records with integrity and confidentiality while supporting development personnel in advancing the organization’s mission.

Requirements and preferences for this position:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Mature Christian in agreement with Hope Gospel Mission’s faith statement
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Maintains a professional presence in alignment with organizational standards.
  • Detail-oriented with outstanding written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in: Gmail, Google Calendar, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including a multi-function copier/printer/scanner and adding machine
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and discernment.
  • Experience in data management and nonprofit CRM systems
  • Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising operations and how data supports these processes
  • Current driver’s license and ability to meet the approval requirements of HGM’s insurance company for driving mission vehicles

Summary of responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter, update and maintain donor, fundraising, and program-related data in organizational databases and systems
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and confidentiality across all records
  • Review and verify information for accuracy, identifying and correcting discrepancies as needed
  • Receive, open, and process incoming mail, including accurately documenting donations and related correspondence
  • Complete appropriate documentation for all donations received in accordance with organizational procedures
  • Process donor receipts and acknowledgments in a timely and accurate manner
  • Follow and establish data health procedures to maintain accurate donor records, including running NCOA updates, incorporating vendor report updates, and reviewing obituaries and other relevant sources to research and update donor information.
  • Support Development and other departments with timely data entry, updates, and reporting needs
  • Generate basic reports to assist with fundraising activities and organizational decision-making
  • Collaborate with internal staff to ensure efficient data management processes and adherence to organizational standards and compliance requirements
  • Provide administrative and event support, including data entry, report generation, and on-site event assistance as needed
  • Provide front desk and administrative support as needed, professionally greeting visitors, managing phone and office communications, and maintaining a welcoming and organized environment.
  • Acquire a good understanding of company programs, policies, and protocol to speak well to others about HGM’s organization
