Job Description 

Position Title: Food Service Attendant Part Time 

Position Type: Hourly $15/ Non-Exempt 

Position Hours: Part-time, 25 hours weekly Length of Term: 190 workdays / At-will Reports to: Food Service Manager, CNP District Staff, Campus Principal 
 

Position Mission: The purpose of the Food Service Worker Attendant was established for the purpose/s  of providing support to the food service activities at assigned campuses with specific responsibilities of  preparing and serving food items to students and/or school personnel while maintaining high standards of  quality in food production, sanitation, and safety practices. 
 

Minimum Qualifications: 

o High School Diploma or GED preferred. 

o Knowledgeable of and ability to follow food preparation and safety instructions. o Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures. 

o Ability to operate large and small kitchen equipment and tools. 

o Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations. 

o Ability to read, write, and speak in the language of English.  
 

Job Duties: 

Food Preparation and Serving: 

o Prepare quality food according to a planned menu of tested, uniform recipes. o Serve food according to meal schedules, departmental policies, and procedures. o Practice and promote portion control and proper use of leftovers as instructed. 
 

Safety and Sanitation: 

o Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety standards. 

o Follow established procedures to meet high standards of cleanliness, health, and safety. o Keep garbage collection containers and areas neat and sanitary. 

o Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to  supervisor immediately. 

o Maintain personal appearance and hygiene. 
 

Other: 

o Handle and record cashier functions accurately. 

o The ability to rotate through multiple work functions within kitchen. 

o Help record food requisitions and orders necessary supplies. 

o Maintain daily food preparation records. 

o Promote teamwork and interaction with fellow staff members. 

o Required to attend Food Service Workers Training for certification. 

o Supervise storage and handling of food items and supplies. Maintain a clean and organized  storage area. 

o Possibly relocating to other campuses within hiring area when needed

o Ability to read and follow recipes. 

o Maintains personal appearance and hygiene. 

o Maintains confidentiality of all information. 

o Reports to work on time every day. 

o Performs other duties as assigned. 
 

Equipment Used: 

Large and small kitchen equipment and tools including electric slicer, mixer, pressure steamer,  sharp cutting tools, ovens, dishwasher, and food and utility cart. 
 

Working Conditions: 

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: 

o Continual standing, walking, pushing, and pulling. 

o Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, and climbing (ladder/step stool). 

o Moderate lifting and carrying. 

o Moderated exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures. 

o Constant fast-paced work environment. 

o Lift/carry 10-40 pounds frequently. 

o Pushing/pulling 10-20 pounds frequently.
