Job description

Bolton & Menk has an exciting opportunity for a Survey Field Technician to join our team in Wake Forest, NC! We are looking to add a Survey Field Technician who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Communities! This role will be responsible for assisting with the planning and organizing of survey field activities.  Survey work will include construction staking, boundary location, ALTA, and topography for various project types. This role will also be responsible for documentation of all phases of survey work completed.

What You Will Be Doing: 

  • Perform field assignments including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA, and topography for various project types.
  • Collect and process field measurements and data for engineering and surveying projects.
  • Operate survey instruments (i.e. Total Stations, Data Collector, levels and GPS equipment) and resolve operation issues.
  • Research existing survey and engineering records.
  • Organize and transfer files between data collectors and internal project folders.
  • Travel frequently to work sites and other project related locations.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Associate's Degree in Land Surveying Technology, Civil Engineering Technology OR 3 years of relevant surveying experience.
  • Ability to perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence.
  • Excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Trimble equipment and software.
  • Experience working in CAD and survey software (AutoCAD, Civil3D, Microstation).
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
