Job description

Phileo Shared Services is seeking a Part-Time Communications Manager to lead the marketing and communications strategies for a network of partner Christian schools. This position plays a vital role in helping each school clearly articulate its unique brand, mission, and story-reaching families, donors, and the broader community with purpose and clarity. This is a remote position with occasional in-person meetings in the greater Philadelphia region.
Key Responsibilities include:
  • Assess Current Strategy
    • Review and evaluate each school's existing marketing and communications activity
    • Identify gaps, opportunities, and alignment with mission and brand identity
  • Develop and Execute Strategic Plans
    • Create and implement an annual marketing plan tailored to each school
    • Develop an annual communications calendar with a consistent monthly communication flow to key audiences (families, donors, alumni, community)
  • Social Media Management
    • Support school staff in managing and optimizing social media platforms
    • Develop strategies to increase engagement and reinforce brand messaging
  • Storytelling & Design
    • Create marketing materials that reflect each school's unique brand and vision
    • Design brochures, digital assets, and print materials that inspire action and communicate value
    • Collaborate with advancement staff to develop compelling donor and development materials

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or brand management (nonprofit or education sector a plus)
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic marketing and communications plans
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools, design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite), and social media platforms
  • A passion for Christian education, paired with a commitment to DC's mission and alignment with biblical values.
  • Personal commitment to Jesus Christ and solid understanding of the Word of God. There should be evidence of a godly lifestyle based on a commitment to Jesus Christ.
