Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

At the Inn at Mattei's Tavern, our goal is to offer the highest level of guest experience according to our Sequence of Service. The polisher / porter is responsible for maintaining supplies clean, organized and stocked before, during and after service. They assist in the control inventory of OS&E, the flow in and out of the kitchen and the dining room. They must be able to see the operation as a whole and move around their team to accomplish the best service and ensure the team is set up for success.ย 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare for each shift by ensuring the section and side stations are properly set up.

  • Receive, open, unpack, store, organize and maintain front of house restaurant supplies.ย 

  • Maintains adequate stock of supplies necessary for service including to go paper goods, glassware, silverware, etc.ย 

  • Polish all glassware, silverware and china circulated in the Tavern Building.ย 

  • Fold napkins and roll ups.

  • Periodically take physical inventory of FOH supplies, including but not limited paper supplies, silverware, glassware and linens.ย 

  • Communicate with the kitchen any dishwashing needs.ย 

  • Assist in all non alcoholic juicing and prep of garnishes.ย 

  • Perform all running side work as assignedย 

  • Perform duties to close the restaurant as assignedย 

  • Properly maintain strict standards of cleanliness in all dining areasย 

  • Properly maintain strict organization standards to prevent breakage

  • Maintain company standards of presentation, uniform, etc.ย 

  • ย Support the Servers and the Kitchen by communicating properlyย 

  • Exceed guest expectations consistently

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Calm, clear, organized and concise communication to all members of the teamย 
  • Extremely organized and maintains a clean workspace.ย 

  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to a variety of service settings including dining, event, terrace, etc.ย 

  • Has a proprietary interest in the success of the restaurant at all times - Is committed to the success of all teammatesย 

  • Speed and attention to detailย 

  • Open schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in a fine dining atmosphere or luxury hotel experience.
