Job description

Immediate Opening - PART TIME Caregiver Needed in Stockton, Lathrop, Tracy, and Lodi areas, CA

LOOKING FOR SOMEONE THAT IS AVAILABLE TO START RIGHT AWAY.

This is a PART-TIME position.

Ideal candidates must be comfortable with working 3 to 6 hour part-time shifts Monday through Friday, weekends, and with having more than one client. Caregivers will only work with one client at a time in a one-to-one setting at the clients' homes. Must be willing to complete online training prior to starting shifts (can also provide certificates if these trainings have been previously completed.)

Position Summary:

Direct Support Staff provide one-on-one support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. They assist individuals in reaching goals outlined in their Individual Program Plan (IPP) and Individual Service Plan (ISP), while promoting independence, safety, and meaningful community participation.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Build supportive, respectful relationships with assigned participants and their Circle of Support

  • Provide individualized instruction and assistance in areas such as:

    • Daily living skills (cooking, hygiene, budgeting)

    • Transportation and community integration

    • Self-advocacy and social skill development

  • Assist participants with accessing appointments, public benefits, and resources

  • Encourage self-determination and goal setting

  • Complete accurate documentation (shift notes, service hours, incident reports)

  • Maintain professional communication with supervisors, Regional Center staff, and families

  • Adhere to safety, abuse prevention, and participant rights protocols

  • Perform CPR/first aid or seek emergency help when necessary

  • Attend mandatory staff meetings, trainings, and ISP planning sessions


Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 18 years old

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 6+ months experience supporting individuals with disabilities or in a human service setting

  • Valid California Driver's License, reliable vehicle, auto insurance, and clean DMV record

  • TB clearance and CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)

  • Ability to pass DOJ/FBI check (Livescan)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus

  • Must be able to complete online training prior to starting with clients

Schedule:

Flexible, including mornings, evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts depending on participant needs. Services are delivered 24/7.
