Job description

Nest Managers Real Estate is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper with a strong background in property management accounting and North Carolina trust accounting procedures.

This position is ideal for someone who understands the fast-paced nature of property management and can confidently manage owner, tenant, and vendor accounting while maintaining compliance with NC Real Estate Commission trust accounting requirements.

Position Type:
Part-Time
Flexible hours available based on experience and workload.

Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable for a residential property management portfolio
• Process vendor invoices, owner disbursements, tenant payments, and security deposit accounting
• Reconcile trust accounts and operating accounts in accordance with NC trust accounting regulations
• Maintain accurate ledgers and financial records within property management software
• Assist with monthly owner statements and financial reporting
• Monitor outstanding balances, collections, and delinquency reporting
• Coordinate with the property management team regarding accounting discrepancies, move-outs, security deposit dispositions, and owner funding requests
• Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures and NCREC guidelines
• Support audit preparation and account reconciliation processes

Qualifications:
• Previous bookkeeping experience in property management is required
• Knowledge of North Carolina real estate trust accounting procedures is required
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines efficiently
• Professional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team
• Experience with property management software such as Rentvine, AppFolio, Buildium, or similar platforms preferred
• Real estate or property management industry experience strongly preferred
