Afterschool Program Support Staff

Part-Time | Afterschool Hours (Approx. 3–3.5 hours/day)

Gathering Kids Afterschool Mentorship Program LLC


Position Overview

The Afterschool Program Support Staff (Tier 1) role is a part-time position supporting daily afterschool program operations. This role is ideal for high school students, college students, aspiring educators, creatives, and individuals seeking meaningful, structured, part-time work with children.

Tier 1 staff play a vital role in ensuring a safe, engaging, and positive environment for students while supporting enrichment activities such as mentorship, STEM, arts & crafts, and physical activity.

This position operates on a **school-year, semester-based schedule** and is best suited for individuals who can commit to consistent attendance and teamwork.


Schedule & Commitment

-Schedule: School days only (2:45 PM – 6:30 PM)

Hours: Approximately 10–17 hours per week


Commitment Requirement

- Entire calendar school year based on Alvin ISD's District-approved calendar.

-Semester-based availability preferred (Fall / Spring / Summer)


Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

-Supervise students during after-school hours

-Assist with enrichment activities (STEM, arts & crafts, mentorship, recreation)

-Support classroom management and positive behavior

-Help with student transitions between activities

-Ensure student safety at all times

-Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of materials

-Follow all program policies, procedures, and expectations

-Communicate professionally with site leadership


Qualifications

-Enjoy working with children in a group setting

-Reliable, punctual, and responsible

-Able to follow directions and work as part of a team

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills

-Must meet background check and compliance requirements

-Prior experience with children is a plus, but not required


Compensation

-Hourly Pay: Based on role and experience

-Performance Review: Eligible after 90 days

-Pay Increases: Based on performance, attendance, and program needs
