Beansprouts is looking for part-time After-School Counselors for the 2026-27 school year!


Founded in 1980 in Park Slope, Brooklyn, Beansprouts offers preschool, after-school, and day camp programming and serves children from ages 1.9 to 9. At Beansprouts, our decisions are driven by what is best for children - from crafting our rich, age-appropriate curriculum to thoughtfully constructing a classroom to represent the unique interests and qualities of our children.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Today, Beansprouts is seeking part-time After-School Counselors to join our after school team for the 2026-27 school year. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in education to gain experience in the field and learn from a fun, creative, and supportive team.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage and support children in play-based activities
  • Prep and clean up before and after activities
  • Work collaboratively with other team members
  • Engage in ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned.
  • May be required to pick up children from local schools

HOURS:

  • Monday - Friday; 2:30 pm - 6 pm for the 2026-27 school year
  • 10-month school year (plus an option to work with our summer camp program)

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess an Associates degree, be enrolled in a Bachelors degree program, or equivalent
  • Must have at least 2 years experience working with children
  • Must be able to work Monday - Friday from 2:30 pm to 6 pm
  • Must be willing to complete school-related training, IdentoGO fingerprinting, and provide up-to-date medical and immunization records as a condition of employment
  • Should demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills and be team-oriented, nurturing, patient, and reliable
  • Should be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, which may include lifting children and year-round outdoor activities

**As per the Department of Health Regulations, a clearance check and medical will be required for employment.
