Job description

Location: One of Self-Help Enterprises’ rental apartment communities
Currently recruiting for the Visalia area.
Hours: 15 hours per week, Mon-Fri 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM


Are you passionate about helping young people reach their full potential? Self-Help Enterprises (SHE) is seeking an energetic and creative Afterschool Coordinator to lead youth programs that inspire learning, leadership, and community connection.

As the Afterschool Coordinator, you’ll plan and facilitate fun, engaging, and educational activities for K–12 students living at one of SHE’s apartment communities. You’ll work closely with the Resident Services Coordinator, Site Manager, parents, and community partners to provide a safe, positive environment where youth can learn, grow, and thrive.


Responsibilities
  • Plan monthly activity schedules and design youth-focused lesson plans for afterschool sessions.
  • Coordinate and oversee activities in the on-site computer lab.
  • Create a positive and inclusive environment that supports academic success, recreation, and personal growth.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model, encouraging communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with SHE staff and partners to ensure program success.
  • Uphold all compliance and reporting requirements.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and lead interactive activities.
