Organization Mission

The National Dance Institute of New Mexico is founded with the knowledge that the arts have a unique power to engage and motivate children. The purpose of our distinctive programs is to help children develop discipline, a standard of excellence, and a belief in themselves that will carry over into all aspects of their lives.

Purpose of Hiland Program Producer Role:

The Hiland Program Producer is responsible for administering all aspects of NDI New Mexico's Hiland after-school program. The Hiland Program Producer is responsible to the Hiland Program Artistic Director for carrying out the mission and the policies of NDI New Mexico with excellence. The Hiland Program Producer is a member of the organization's Artistic Administrative Staff.

Primary Responsibilities:
Administrates After-School Program

  • Oversees administration of after-school and summer programs, including but not limited to registration, schedules, student account management (attendance, record-keeping), payment processing.
  • Responsible for conveying the program's communication with students, families, faculty, and the community at large, at the direction of the Hiland Artistic Director
  • Monitors, updates and reconciles program budget with Hiland Artistic Director
  • Carries out or oversees Producer duties as outlined in Producer's Manual
  • Prepares and administrates staff meetings in collaboration with Hiland Artistic Director
  • Coordinates, assists with training, and reviews procedures with other NDI New Mexico Artistic Program Producers as scheduled annually
  • Maintains student database and provides reports as needed.
  • Monitors and submits payroll for all Hiland hourly staff
  • Prepares and delivers reports on program data as needed
  • Coordinates with Marketing department, Hiland Artistic Director, and Albuquerque Managing Director for program's advertising needs


Oversees Administration of Hiland Advanced Teams and Productions

  • Assists Hiland Artistic Director as needed with Advanced team administration, productions, and special events.
  • Serves as Box Office Manager and primary Box Office staff for all NDI New Mexico events at The Hiland
  • Supports Hiland Artistic Director in managing work study/demonstrator programs
  • Oversees and coordinates with Hiland Artistic Associate in scheduling and training volunteers as needed.

Cultivates Relationships with Community Stakeholders

  • Develops positive relationships with parent volunteers to engage families in the program, inspiring their commitment, and enlisting and coordinating their support for events.
  • Fosters positive relations, and acts as an advocate for the organization with all stakeholders in the program.

General Duties

  • Creates and maintains program procedures, forms, and templates for all after-school productions and programs, in coordination with all other artistic program producers to ensure consistency across the programs
  • Schedules regular office hours
  • Attends enrichment workshops and staff meetings as needed
  • Upholds all Management and HR policies and procedures
  • Coordinates with In-School Producer to manage and monitor shoe usage
  • Other duties as needed

Working Conditions, Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Functions performed in a variety of environments including: NDI New Mexico offices, schools, residency sites, and other locations
  • Requires reliable transportation and reimbursable in-state travel to NDI New Mexico locations, participating schools, residency sites, and community events
  • Requires weekend and evening hours
  • May be required to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • May be required to navigate stairs

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
