About the Role

FASNY is seeking a warm, engaged After School Counselor to support our after-school program for students in PreK through 3rd grade. This is an hourly, part-time position reporting to the After School Coordinator. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, brings energy and patience to a busy afternoon environment, and helps create a safe, fun, and enriching experience for students after the academic day ends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and engage students during after-school programming, including activities, snack time, and free play

  • Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all students

  • Support daily attendance tracking and communicate with families as needed

  • Collaborate with the After School Coordinator and fellow counselors to plan and deliver activities

  • Follow all school health, safety, and supervision protocols

  • Assist with set-up and clean-up of activity spaces

Qualifications
  • Experience working with children in a school, camp, or childcare setting preferred

  • Patient, reliable, and comfortable managing groups of young children

  • Strong communication skills; French language skills a plus but not required

  • CPR/First Aid certification a plus (or willingness to obtain)

  • Must be available: Monday–Friday, 3:00–6:00 PM

Schedule & Compensation
  • Hourly position; hours vary based on program enrollment and schedule

  • Primary location: Larchmont - Manor Campus
