After School Program Teacher Part-Time | 10 –15 hours/week | $16.94 -$20/hour | Immediate Hire

The Foote School seeks a part-time teacher to join our dynamic After School Program (ASP). The ASP provides a structured, safe, playful, and relaxing environment for students after the school day ends. Our philosophy is that children learn about themselves and others through play. ASP teachers create opportunities for students to engage in fun activities, interactive projects, and meaningful connections that support their social, emotional, and creative growth in a joyful and supportive community.

Our new teacher will lead and supervise activities with children in kindergarten through ninth grade. Working collaboratively with other ASP staff, the teacher will design and run activities—including crafts, sports, games, reading, and cooking—that inspire curiosity, build social skills, and encourage children to explore new interests.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage with children in all aspects of the afterschool experience
  • Create and run structured activities such as crafts, sports, games, reading, and cooking
  • Ensure a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for students
  • Plan and implement projects and enrichment opportunities
  • Collaborate with other ASP staff to support the overall program
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities

Hours

  • Monday – Friday: 3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Approximately 15 full days during school vacations (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)

Qualifications

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and caring personality
  • Flexible team player who enjoys working collaboratively
  • Experience working with children (preferred)
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to different needs and situations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • First Aid/AED/CPR certification (preferred, training available)

Compensation

  • $16.94 –$20.00 per hour, depending on experience
