Hardware Paint Associate

Eldredge Lumber & Hardware, Inc.

York, ME • On-site

$21 - $24/hr

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement, PTO

Posted 5 days ago

Job description

Eldredge Lumber & Hardware has been a cornerstone of Southern Maine communities since 1937. We're a family-run, independently owned Ace Hardware store — which means you're not a number here. You'll be trained well, treated with respect, and become a genuine expert that customers trust and come back to by name.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

This is a hands-on customer-facing role centered on our Paint Department. Most of your day involves helping people bring their projects to life — whether that's a first-time homeowner picking their living room color or a contractor ordering commercial quantities of exterior stain.

Day-to-day, you'll:

  • Help customers choose the right paint, stain, or primer for their specific project
  • Mix and match colors accurately using our tinting equipment
  • Provide color-matching services for existing paint and stains
  • Keep the paint department stocked, clean, and easy to shop
  • Handle special orders and phone inquiries from customers
  • Support our outside paint sales rep, including occasional customer deliveries
  • Pitch in across the broader store — cashiering, stocking, merchandising — as needed
