Job description

The Paint Associate supports the paint team in delivering high-quality painting services across marina structures, amenities, and equipment. This role assists with surface preparation, paint application, equipment upkeep, and project cleanup. The Paint Associate contributes to maintaining attractive, well-kept marina facilities while ensuring a safe, organized, and efficient work environment for the team and for boaters.

This role is for a craftsmanship-oriented teammate: precise, collaborative, safety-aware, and dedicated to high-quality results.

Painting & Surface Preparation

  • Assist with sanding, cleaning, masking, and preparing surfaces for paint, varnish, or other finishes.
  • Apply coatings to marina structures and equipment under direction of the Paint Supervisor, ensuring quality standards.

Equipment & Materials Management

  • Support proper storage, organization, and maintenance of painting tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, material shortages, or safety concerns promptly to the Paint Supervisor.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety guidelines, PPE requirements, and hazard-prevention protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Adhere to company standards, operating procedures, and quality expectations during all paint-related tasks.

Teamwork & Workflow Support

  • Collaborate with paint team members to maintain efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
  • Carry out instructions from senior team members and assist in cleaning and organizing workspaces after tasks are completed.

Adaptability & Problem-Solving

  • Address minor painting challenges with attention to detail and good judgment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support marina operations and overall project success.

Qualifications

  • Prior painting or facilities experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of painting tools, techniques, and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills for minor on-site challenges.
  • Physical stamina to bend, kneel, lift, and work in various weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential job functions safely and consistently in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other applicable standards.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone and in person.
  • Primarily light, administrative work with occasional heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs.) and frequent moderate lifting (20-50 lbs.).
  • Ability to move through varied marina environments and obstacles, with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to withstand exposure to heat and various weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
