The salary range for this temp position is $45.00 - $55.00 per hour. Offered salary is dependent upon experience and San Francisco location. This is a hybrid role based in our downtown San Francisco office - Tues through Thursday in-office, with Monday and Friday remote.

SUMMARY

The Temp - Packaging Designeris responsible forcreating inspiring and innovative exterior package design forKendoBrands.This position is key to translating our branding messageandstrategyinto compelling external package design.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Createinspiring, strategic, and innovative ideas for compelling primary and secondary packaging designs.
  • Review proposed designs with the Creative Director and SVP of Packaging prior to sharing with cross-functional teams to ensure design aesthetics and requirements are met.
  • Ideate design concepts by developing consistent product and packaging codes across core products, line extensions, and limited-edition collections.
  • Support package design development for upcoming programs/launches on designated brands. Partner with product development and packaging teams to achieve the highest level of quality for each project, understanding limitations due to timing, costs, etc.
  • Support the presentation of packaging designs to the cross-functional team, including the development/completion of 3D renderings and comps.
  • Extend approved master creative compositions and layouts into thevarious sizesand formats needed for products whilemaintainingthe original creative intent and specifications (includingdieline,special finishes,bleed, trim, type safety, resolution, and color mode); effectively manage files to ensure accessibility for print specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Production team to ensure artwork is delivered accurately and on time.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience in design, and 1 year of experience in packaging; a BA in design is preferred.
  • Passion for the beauty industry.
  • Driven and creativeindividualwith experience developing innovative package designs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines, manage multiple projects, and work productively in a team environment arerequired.
  • Very strongorganizational skills.
  • Experience increating presentations from materials to concepts.
  • Advanced Apple computer skills in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, with a specialty in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
